Our makers hand-blend our teas with great care in our own facility in midtown Toronto - to ensure excellence in quality and freshness (with the exception of our matcha, which is ground to order for us, and immediately packed in final packaging in Japan).
Hand blending minimizes leaf damage and ensures that our makers can assess each batch and ingredient for quality, consistency, and freshness. The skylights throughout our facility flood our space with natural light to help our team detect subtle shifts in colour.
We do regular batch testing to ensure our products are compliant with Health Canada’s Maximum Residue Limit (MRL).
GFSI/SQF Certification
Pluck Tea has held GFSI / SQF Certification for several years, which is a third-party audited, internationally recognized food safety standard (the highest safety certification possible for tea).
Every input ingredient and batch of tea is assigned a unique batch number, allowing for full traceability while maintaining the highest possible food safety and freshness standards. We record and maintain records of all Pluck batch numbers for all teas that are shipped out our doors.
Organic Certification by Pro-Cert Canada
Before shipment, our Organic teas are independently verified and certified by Pro–Cert in Canada. This independent certification body also comes to our production facility annually to ensure that everything from our dish soap to our storage areas are Organic compliant, and to conduct a detailed audit of our organic product sales and imports to ensure they match perfectly.
Third Party Testing
We source our matcha from an Organically Certified, Rainforest Alliance certified source. Our matcha is tested regularly in Canada by Eurofins (an independent lab) to ensure full compliance with Organic Standards and Canadian CFIA standards for MRLs.
