Do your tea bags contain petroleum based plastic?
No. Our woven tea bag material is plant–based and made from non–GMO sugar cane.

How much caffeine is in my cup of tea?
When preparing tea, several factors will impact the amount of caffeine in your cup:
Water temperature. The hotter the water, the more stimulants will be extracted.
Time. The longer you steep your tea, the bigger the buzz.
Tea type. Steeped black teas have higher levels of theine than green teas for a few reasons: Higher steeping temperature. Longer steeping times. There is also some research showing that the longer oxidation process that black tea undergoes makes caffeine easier to extract.
Tea blend ingredients. Are you drinking pure tea (100% camellia sinensis) or a blend of tea leaves with other ingredients such as fruit, spices, herbs, or flowers? The lower the proportion of tea leaves, the lower the caffeine - as herbal ingredients do not contain caffeine.

What are natural flavours?
Not all flavours are created equal. We only use natural flavours (never artificial) which are derived from plant–based ingredients and are Organic Compliant, Certified Vegan and Kosher.
They are alcohol based (from corn), and formulated by a premium natural flavour provider. We apply the flavours to the tea leaves in a fine mist, and the alcohol quickly evaporates away – leaving the pure flavour behind.
Tip: You can try making your own natural flavours at home by using a neutral sprit (vodka for example) and soaking fruits, spices, or fresh botanicals in it. Vanilla bean is an excellent ingredient to try.

Do you use artificial flavours in your teas?
No. We only use natural ingredients and flavours. Our natural flavours are exclusively alcohol-based, never propylene glycol.
The tea I love is gone. Is it discontinued, and what should I try instead?
Some of our teas are seasonal, limited-edition, or may eventually be retired from our collection to make room for something new. If you can’t find an old favourite on our website, reach out to us! We’d be happy to let you know if it’s coming back—or help you find a new tea with a similar flavour profile.
How should I store my tea and matcha, and how long will it stay fresh?
For the freshest cup, keep your tea sealed tightly and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, moisture, and strong odours.
Matcha is a little more sensitive! Once opened, keep it tightly sealed in the refrigerator to help preserve its vibrant colour, aroma, and flavour. Before opening refrigerated matcha, let the container come closer to room temperature to help prevent condensation from getting inside.

Will my Pluck Points Expire?
Points expire 12 months from the date they are earned.
I have not signed up for Pluck Points before, but had made orders in the past. Can I get my points from those orders?
Yes, if you use the same email to sign up for Pluck Points your points from previous orders will automatically populate.
Are wholesale orders eligible for Pluck Points?
No, Pluck Points are not available for wholesale orders.
How do I add a one time purchase to my subscription order?

If the renewal date for your subscription order is coming up, and you would like to add a non-subscription item to the order, please follow these steps:
1. Log into your Pluck account on our website
2. Once logged in, click on the 'My Account" tab in the top right corner of the website.
3. On the right side, you will see a tab labeled "Manage Subscriptions". It may take a moment to load, but it will display your subscription details.
4. Click on "Next Order". Once looking at your next order, you will see a section titled "You May Also Like". Click on "Browse All" and search for the teas you'd like!
5. Once you pick the tea you want to add, you can select "Add just once" in the frequency drop down.
6. Wait for your subscription to arrive, and enjoy!
Ordering & Shipping
How do I apply a discount code to my order?
If you have a discount code you would like to use, there is a spot to add it on the checkout page. Once you click ‘checkout,’ there is a box on the right-hand side of the page that says, ‘gift card or discount code.’ Add it in here and make sure to click ‘apply.’
I have 2 discount codes. Can I apply both to my order?
Discount codes are limited to one per order. This includes Pluck Points discount codes.
Are my discount codes refundable?
Discount codes are non-refundable.
How much is shipping?
Shipping across Canada is free for product orders over $60.
Wholesale orders under $200 incur a flat-rate shipping fee of $8.50.
How long does it take for my order to ship?
Orders ship within 3-5 business days. We hand-blend and pack all our teas in small batches at our Toronto facility to ensure you get the freshest teas possible.
Can I stop by your office to pick some up?
Our facility in midtown Toronto is a production facility and is currently not open for order pickup. We offer Canada-wide free shipping for orders over $60.
What is your return policy?
We unfortunately cannot accept returns due to our stringent food safety protocols; however, if there is a problem with your order, we want to make it right!

What’s with the name?
Pluck is the first measure of quality in tea production. Tea is traditionally harvested by hand–plucking, and the crop is graded by its ‘pluck’. We’re pretty big on quality.

What are the health benefits of your teas?
The benefits of tea consumption are well documented, and new health studies are being published all the time.
The Tea Association of Canada (www.tea.ca) is a great resource for the most up-to-date material!
Do you use nuts in your teas? How about gluten?
We do not include nuts in our blends, and nuts are not permitted on premises. The ingredients we blend with do not include gluten. This includes all natural flavours where applied.
We follow strict allergen guidelines, however we are not certified ‘Nut-Free’ or 'Gluten-Free' at this time.
Are there oranges in orange pekoe?
No. Never have been, never will be.
